Petroleum Park is the place to learn about the "Birthplace of the Texas Oil Industry" The first oil discovery in Texas leading to commercial oil production was made on this site in 1894 while drilling for water. There features here in the park, such as the 1923 Wooden Jail, Historic Blacksmith Site, Historic Oil Derrick, and Historic War Cannon.
